Influence of Burnout syndrome on the emotional intelligence of public officials in the municipality of Junín.

Burnout syndrome, a disorder associated with chronic work stress, manifests itself through emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced perception of personal accomplishment. This syndrome negatively affects both individual well-being and mental health, which in turn influences work performance and interpersonal relationships. This research aimed to evaluate how Burnout syndrome affects the emotional intelligence of employees of the municipality of Junín in the year 2023. The methodology adopted an inductive-deductive approach, using analysis and bibliographic review techniques, complemented with field research. . quantitative type. Through surveys, the impact of Burnout on the emotional intelligence of a sample of 198 officials was examined, of which 76 are subject to the Labor Code. The tools applied included the Maslach Burnout Inventory and the BARON ICE Test. The results indicated that a considerable part of the servers present symptoms of Burnout and that their levels of emotional intelligence are between medium and high ranges. This finding reveals an inverse relationship between the dimensions of Burnout syndrome and the components of emotional intelligence. In conclusion, Burnout represents a significant challenge for professionals, since it affects not only their well-being and work performance, but also their emotional intelligence.
