Developing 21st Century Skills Through the Use of ICT: Critical Thinking, Creativity and Problem Solving.

In this article, the development of 21st century skills is addressed through the use of ICT, which plays a fundamental role in the educational process of students, training them to face the new challenges and changes of a society through thinking; critical, creativity and problem solving; The objective focused on knowing the development of 21st century skills through the use of ICT by teachers at the Central University of Ecuador in the teaching and learning process; The methodology was based on a non-experimental design with a qualitative approach. As a technique for collecting information, the semi-structured interview was applied, which once answered made it easier to understand and interpret; The results showed the following categories in the dimensions studied: Dimension Critical thinking, critical thinking in learning, critical thinking in interaction; Creativity Dimension: creativity in content production, creativity in innovation, personalized learning and creativity in communication and the Problem Solving Dimension: identification and definition of the problem, search for solutions and integration of knowledge; It is concluded that the teachers of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the Central University of Ecuador have a vision aimed at generating new technological knowledge and are committed to lifelong learning by developing 21st century skills through use of ICT in students of the Information Systems career.
