Evaluation of the quality of the solids in the pre-sedimentation pools of the drinking water treatment plant in the city of Esmeraldas for the production of building blocks

An applied research is carried out, which seeks to solve a practical problem of the use of sedimented sludge for the production of building blocks, by developing a solution with real application. The applied approach involves a research more oriented towards implementation and less towards pure theory. The objective was to evaluate the quality of the solids in the pre-sedimentation pools of the drinking water treatment plant of the city of Esmeraldas for the production of building blocks. It is concluded that the sedimented sludge in the sedimentation pools of the drinking water of the City of Esmeraldas should not be evacuated to the Esmeraldas River and to promote the creation of micro-enterprises to use the sedimented sludge in the ETAP and produce products for construction, organic soil.
