This study focuses on the evaluation of ergonomic risks present in the standard penetration testing area of the Leholab concrete laboratory, in Santo Domingo, with the objective of preventing the development of occupational diseases, particularly musculoskeletal disorders, among workers. To achieve this, a rigorous methodological approach was implemented that included direct observation of work activities, the application of surveys to gather employee perceptions, and a thorough ergonomic evaluation. This analysis allowed us to identify significant risk factors such as forced postures maintained for long periods, high-frequency repetitive movements, and manual manipulation of heavy loads. The results of this study highlight the prevalence of musculoskeletal discomfort among workers, which, if not adequately intervened, could escalate to chronic disorders. In response to these results, several ergonomic intervention strategies were proposed. These include reorganizing the work environment to optimize posture and minimize unnecessary strain, as well as ongoing training of workers in safe lifting techniques and the importance of incorporating active breaks throughout the workday. In addition to reducing the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders, the implementation of these ergonomic improvements has the potential to increase laboratory productivity and efficiency by reducing time lost due to injury and improving job satisfaction.
