Impact of ICT on Educational Modernization in Ecuador to Improve Academic Outreach.

ICTs have been characterized by improving access to information, making communication between teachers and students more effective. The objective of this article was to analyze from the perspective of experts what has been the impact of ICT on educational modernization in Ecuador for the improvement of academic achievement. At the methodological level, an empirical method was used, a qualitative approach and a type of descriptive and explanatory research were applied, due to the need to know in depth the perspective of teachers on how the impact of ICT has been in educational modernization. The unit of analysis was composed of eight Ecuadorian teachers from primary and secondary educational units at the university level. The research technique considered was the interview, which was applied under a script of eight questions. The results showed that, in each dimension, students of different educational levels in the country have been able to take advantage of ICTs adequately, thanks to the guidance of the teacher, which is evident as fundamental for students to know how to make correct use of them and apply what they learn in each subject and combine them from time to time with traditional alternatives. It is concluded that the impact of ICT in educational modernization in Ecuador has been significant, taking into consideration that students have learned to apply them in the subjects, in a creative way when presenting their assignments and to be more critical with the information they see on the web.
